Generations in the workplace training with Rita Sever

On September 18, we hosted consultant Rita Sever for a training focused on generations in the workplace and differences at work. Server is a nonprofit consultant with more than 20 years of experience in human resources and organizational development. It was a very active session, with opportunities for breakout sessions, discussion, and reflection.

  1. 12 participants were asked to complete a survey after the workshop and we received 11 responses. The majority of participants enjoyed the blend of lecture and activities. Participants rated Rita’s presentation on generational differences as the most beneficial part of the workshop. 91% felt they had learned something and 72% felt it was a good use of their time. During the workshop the group was asked to record topics for further training, these topics were included in the survey and respondents noted the most interest in work-life balance, creating a healthy culture of yes, being transparent about the feedback process, and finding ways to keep momentum going after workshops like this. 73% felt the workshop achieved its goal to build trust and enhance our work as a group, and 81% noted at least some overall satisfaction. 100% of programmers felt it was valuable for them as a supervisor, and 75% felt the workshop had value for their team. The Steering Committee is meeting soon to review the survey results and plan for our upcoming workshop with Jeanne Bell in November.
